In the event that a player accumulates the third yellow card during the season, they can have it deducted if they participate in five consecutive matches without receiving any further cards or supplementary disciplinary actions. Presently, this player has two chances to earn a "good conduct bonus" in the MLS regular season. Should this athlete remain card-free in the subsequent five games and escape any additional penalties, their total yellow card count would decrease by one, dropping from three to two. At that point, the player would have just one yellow card and one remaining opportunity for the "good conduct bonus."
