Ira Winderman expressed his concerns, stating that the Heat's current struggles stem from both a flawed tactical approach and the head coach's steadfastness. It is imperative for Spoelstra to adapt, as he had demonstrated flexibility during the era of the Big Three. Winderman fears that in the intensely competitive Eastern Conference, a single defeat could have catastrophic implications for the team's postseason aspirations. The gap between the second and tenth spots in the standings could be as narrow as three or four wins, and the Heat must abandon their experimentation and swiftly return to their established routine.
